Is it possible to add new metrics by myself?

Hello. I need the metric "Overall Status" for Vmware. Is it possible to add it by myself?

Overall Status - Displays the status of a resource pool. Status values for the parameter include: 0 - Unknown 1 - OK 2 - Warning 3 - Alarm
