Issue when Spliting to parts with imported multi-part model

Description of the bug

I added a multi-part model to an Object as a Part. Then scaled the added model to fit, When attempting to split the added multi-part model to parts, All the parts are drawn together towards the center of origin. I would expect each part to hold its position after being split.

I also tried Importing as separate Objects then Merging, however I got the same result. I experimented with several multi-part models and had similar results but with sometimes different positions, seemingly based on their scale. For example, one event made all the parts go to the highest point of the tallest part, even though that was not the center of origin.

When the model is added as a stand alone object it can be split to parts, and the parts will maintain their correct positions. This happens seemingly only if the added part is scaled, then split, and regardless of which coordinate system is selected. Rotating or changing the position of the model on the platter has no effect.

If the Model is scaled, and the Project is saved before splitting the scaled model to parts, this error will not occur.

Project file & How to reproduce

To reproduce this behavior, open the provided project file, select the “Text.obj” in the object menu, and scale it to fit the Shape-Box. Then with the Text.obj still selected Split to parts. You should see something like the example image provided.
