Mouse Shortcuts / Shortcut Alternatives

Open TheyCallMeZ opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

A Number of times I will go back and forth between the 3d editor view and the preview and I realize I can use the built in shortcuts of Ctrl+5 and Ctrl+6 but I feel like it would be more intuitive if these would be mapped to the forward and back buttons on the mouse.

An Alternative would be if you had an option to re-bind shortcut keys.

Thank You and keep making PrusaSlicer the best slicing app out there!

Tab I was unaware of and is handy. Ctrl+5/Ctrl+6 seems like an awkward stretch to do one handed.

I can assign macros to my keyboard and can throw pretty much anything at it. But I do it preferably without macros... So, customizing shortcuts is preferred.

On macOS, command-option-[left/right] arrow key allows for navigation between tabs in many applications, including Chrome, Firefox, & VS Code. So being able to change keybindings would mean that we could reuse shortcut patterns, such as ⌘ ⌥ ⇄, that are already well engrained.

In addition, and clearly dependent on how it's implemented, it might even be possible to have sets of sharable key-mappings (e.g. https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/getstarted/keybindings#_keymap-extensions).
