Unable to Stack Objects
What I want to do is to “stack” two objects. As a simple case, I have a 20 x 20 x 10 cube and a 10 (diameter) x 10 (height) cylinder as STL files. I want the cylinder stacked on top of the cube.
I first import the cube. Then I import the cylinder.
I select the cube object. “Place on bed” is On, so Z position is grayed out. Okay…
I select the cylinder object. “Place on bed” is also On, and Z position is grayed out. Okay…
I set “Place on bed” to Off (for the cylinder). The Z position can now be changed. Good....
I increase the Z position on the cylinder to 15 to put it above the cube, then adjust X and Y to stack it on top of the cube. Looks great!
I click Generate. Instead of stacking the cylinder on top of the cube, it puts the cylinder on the bed, thus embedding the cylinder in cube instead of stacking it on top.
