Ability to define "rest time" to avoid blooming
Hi, this feature request is somewhat in the same vain as #71 #68 and #64. But more specifically, it centres around control of the resin vat rest time, the time in between the tilting action, and the UV curing of the next layer. When printing precision mechanical parts directly on the build platform, I am struggling to eliminate significant "blooming," which can be caused by resin still flowing/moving as it is curing.
While we currently have the option between three speed profiles, faster, slower, and high viscosity, these profiles adjust the title time and rest time together, and in a way that we can't modify. In my case, all I would like to adjust is the rest time, and to a significant degree of 8-10s, but wish to leave the tilt time as fast as it is in the faster profile.
At the moment, I am forced to use "high viscosity" mode, which takes forever (time in between layers of 18 seconds), yet only seems to include a rest time of 3-4 seconds. Individual control of these two parameters, tilt time and rest time, would completely solve this issue and greatly improve the printing experience for precision mechanical components or other prints that are printed against the platform. Other much cheaper resin printers include this flexibility out of the box. So far my experience with the SL1s is amazing in many ways, but adding features like this would make it near perfect.
(This feature is called "light-off" delay in Lychee slicer and Chitubox.)
Hello, thank you for your request! We will test this feature and hopefully, we can add it to the settings in the future. For now, the best way to avoid blooming is to add a drainage hole close to the platform to stop the flow and pressure. I understand this is not a convenient way even though the hole can be tiny, we will try your suggestion
Looking forward to this! I am hoping this would mitigate elephant's foot in some cases as well. In a perfect world, it would be possible to specify two such delays - one that is applied on bottom/burn-in layers, and one that is applied for all other layers.
In my use case, I would set a high bottom layer delay (to eliminate elephant's food) but a low value for the remaining layers (to keep overall print time reasonably low).
