RSS feed is empty

The web site exposes an RSS feed as link rel=alternate, at https://protobuf.dev/news/index.xml but that feed is empty instead of containing the latest news and/or content updates.

This is a known issue, and I've spent several hours trying to track it down. I'll keep asking around to see if I can find the source of the problem.

We have some progress to report! https://protobuf.dev/index.xml now has our RSS feed in it.

Unfortunately, the pubDate metadata isn't working; we'll work to fix that, next.
