The commit log for this is a mess, can you please fix it?

FYI, you should use fork and branch workflow to avoid problems with your fork master getting out of sync.

These changes would appear to replace / overwrite code that has recently been modified in the collector. If you're unable to verify the current and correct approach, we may have to skip this PR.

That's fair: actually, I am not collecting metrics from StorCli anymore. If the original script is working for current users, I cannot contribute any further.
