Odd behavior of autocomplete on back/forward cache (likely turbolinks related)

I came across this issue while implementing twitter typeahead in another Blacklight context and looking at Blacklight's behavior.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start on the home page (e.g. demo.projectblacklight.org)
2. Click a link (not a form submit) that will take you away from the home page (e.g. a facet, History, or Bookmarks links)
3. Click the browser's back button.

You'll notice that the search input is styled a bit oddly:

You'll also notice that markup is duplicated in the form, and continues to be additive across multiple link click + browser back/forward button clicks.
