could you please give a short explanation about the current status of the project and if there are some plans for the future.

The last commit is 3 years old and our issues are uncommented.

Don't missunderstand me. Please don't describe why you don't work on the project currently. Just explain the current status and your wishes for the future.

I remember this project was supported (maybe with money???) from the DGP. If you want to give up maintaining that project you should tell us who we can contact about the project - maybe at the DGP.
