PINN won't backup OSMC - PINN Version: v3.8.7
Hi!
I want to add two more operating systems to the SD card. I've found that the easiest way is to back up the operating systems and do a fresh install of Pinn. Unfortunately, when I try to back up OSMC, I get an "Unsupported Operating System Detected" error message.
How can I fix this? This is my recovery.cmdline file
select="allnetwork" no_default_source disablesdimages alt_image_source=http://pinn.mjh.nz/os_list.json?osmc_pi4=41116&volumio=16384 ssh no_group bootmenutimeout=10 quiet ramdisk_size=32768 root=/dev/ram0 init=/init vt.cur_default=1 elevator=deadline loglevel=2 sdhci.debug_quirks2=4
Thanks
Please reboot PINN twice and then see if you can back up OSMC.

I'm getting the same message when trying to back up my Kali 64 operating system.
Not all OSes can be backed up due to limitations of the OS or PINN, hence the message, but it could be I just forgot to flag it is as being able to be backed up. I will check it out, though.
Please reboot PINN twice and then see if you can back up OSMC.
this worked Thanks
this worked Thanks
Please check you can restore your backup to a different SD card before relying upon it. Sometimes I just forget to mark it as supporting backup, and sometimes it is left off for a reason :wink:
I was thinking of backing up the SD card with Win32Imager
You can do that, but it's not the same sort of backup. It will backup the whole SD card as an image. PINN's backup will backup an individual OS in PINN format to a USB drive, so PINN can restore it to the same drive, or a different drive of maybe a different (but sufficient) size.
oh yes, I know this, I wanted to create the image of the SD card so I could restore it in case the OS backup doesn't work
