linuxdeployqt Qt copyright missing in doc

I wondered, as in the doc folder inside the appDir, all doc of all the lirary deployed is collected. why are the ones of Qt and Plugins missing and not collected there?

What is "the doc folder inside the AppDir"? If you are referring to usr/share/doc, it gets populated with the copyright files for any files linuxdeployqt is copying in from the host system, if it is a deb-based system.

Where is your Qt coming from? From inside a deb?

thank your for your reply and sorry for not being specific enough. I am using ubuntu 16.04lTS build machine. exactly I am referring to that directory.

I can see that usr/lib gets populated by linuxdeployqt with essential Qt5 libraries like libQtCore.so.5, libQtGui.so.5, libQtWidgets.so.5 ... also usr/plugins contains many libraries regarding Qt itself.

but the /srhare/doc folder does not contain anything regarding Qt or Qtlibraries while it contains licensing info of all the other libs that were put into usr/lib folder (even third party)

Would usr/share/doc not also be the right place to contain Qt licesing info for the QtCoreLibs that also get automatically packges under usr/lib?

i have some qt deb installed, but the ones coming from the distro are outdated (in ubuntu 16.04 at 5.7!), so I assume for packaging the ones from the toolchain (qt 5.14) , belonging to the specified qmake, itself are used?

and because they are not a .deb, but installed with qt-maintencne tool, there is no automatic doc in /share/doc in the AppDir

but is that right? if i want to deploy qt, i need to deliver all the licensing bla under the LGPL along with the application, same as all the other libraries (for whcih the autonatic collecting works like a charm). How do other ppl solve this dilemma, esp when deploying qt?

Please find out which packages provide the files that you think end up in the AppImage with missing copyright information.

Yes, it is your responsibility to comply with any licenses of things you are putting inside an AppImage. Just like if you were putting things into e.g., a zip.
