SoundSense prevents audio and video playback in other applications (Debian Testing)

I'm running Debian Testing, and (as a result) my sound server is PipeWire

When SoundSense is open, other applications stop being able to play audio or video. e.g. discord notifications, Youtube videos in Firefox, or videos in VLC (which freezes up until SIGKILLed)
