Handling more pages
Opportunity Right now Primo is limited by the number of pages that can be created, making it impossible for more serious websites to adopt it. Many websites make use of WordPress, which offers blogging functionality. Integrating blogging in Primo would allow many websites to make this switch.
Problem While Primo does have a "Posts" component, it is pretty limited and not that straightforward to use. It only works neatly when having a handful of informational posts. Not hundreds of posts as many mature blogs would have. Aditionally:
- The page list screen gets laggy when it has to render a lot of pages.
- Saving starts to take a while because of having to save the whole site file at once, and the same thing for publishing because it uploads the whole site with every update.
Potential solutions
- WordPress has a separation between pages and posts. Pages are permanent sources of information, whereas posts are articles on a site.
- Rendering the preview pages seems like overkill to me. Just having a list of all pages/posts should be sufficient.
- Saving could be fixed by only uploading changes to the site & having the server apply those to the site file. Publishing can stay quick by only uploading pages that have been updated, as opposed to the whole site.
