I am excited for Angular 20 Route level CSR, SSR, and Prerender with Primeng

The roadmap states that Angular 20 support is within the "Q2" boundary. We're rapidly approaching the end of Q2: https://primeng.org/roadmap

Thats why i asked if there any date ..? Q2.... when ?

Well logically it would be the end of Q2 since it is a boundaried roadmap...

I see... I hope it will be soon 🙃

Every year is the same, we wait for weeks... I don't understand how they don't have basic roadmap or plan knowing regular Angular releases periods.

almost over Q2.... why dont you release specific date for version 20 ?

and how can we trust in the future that we wont need to wait 3-4 weeks after angular version release for primeng?

at least release primeng-20-beta.... or something for start....

Seems like they are in progress, good to now, waiting for it. NX and Storybook did support it really early on, so, primeng is the only one missing compatibility for me.

lol... really ? ....

its ~70% almost 4 weeks...

so i guess to stop waiting for PrimeNG and remove from it...to pure Tailwind

cause your times lines is unknow, and you support is not sync at all,

and the mot worst thing is u cant publish specific Release date, so simple, you cant commit it. Q3 is over in few days. Your delay between release the Angular version is to to long, As I said "Unknow".

so sorry, we cant be depends on PrimeNg any more, company policy...

we were really paction so far, and your answers are bad!

idanzam avatar Jun 24 '25 09:06 idanzam

guys.... come on it's been nearly a month and still there's nothing about the PrimeNG v20 - this is a DISASTER, I mean we use it across multiple different projects and cannot upgrade those projects to Angular v20 ONLY BECAUSE primeng is still falling behind.. like how can all other packages be up-to date within the first week and be prepared to release the Angular v20 support of their package and you guys are still nowhere near it.

As @idanzam said I guess Tailwind or Bootstrap would be a better alternative since this is irresponsibility for such a large package and community..

@vgavrilovikj

I just casually went to google it, and Cagatay posted this on X

I am also really looking forward to the upgrade, and also the new demos! 😄

It might be worth considering decoupling the PrimeNG functional upgrades from the Angular releases. We had the same issues with Angular 19 and 18 until PrimeNG 17 was upgraded to support Angular 18 due to the new theming engine.

Yes, the breaks the "Angular version = PrimeNG version," but it is not great to have each upgrade cycle blocked for weeks or months and would also give the PrimeNG team a bit more freedom to pick their own release cycles instead of relying on that of Angular.

And still no specific release date...

First week of July is the release week. v18/v19 was an unusual exception due to generational update. v20 also switched to shared primeuix styles that all Prime libraries use. This is not easy as bumping Angular version. Overall, I must say it is very challenging trying to fit-in someone else's roadmap 🤓

But I'm happy to share that, with v21 and later, we'll be able to release a compatible PrimeNG in 1 week as they will be iterative updates, evolution not a revolution.

cagataycivici avatar Jun 26 '25 15:06 cagataycivici

Here we go! First release since I'm back as the new PM, hope you like it.

Sorry to say, but who cares about an RC in a Production Software. RC != Release.
