I just experienced this issue, my OpenEVSE has been firmware 8.2.3 for several months, with the required 4.1.7 or 4.2.2 (gui V2) firmware. OpenEVSE | 8.2.3 OpenEVSE Wifi | v4.2.2...

EL8 (and EL9) appear to restrict older OpenSSL (< 1.1.0) calls. See #161 for a possible, but untested workaround.
