ATTENTION: preact-compat moved to the main repo

Our React compatibility layer for Preact has moved to the main repo and can be imported via preact/compat (note the slash). Please file all issues with the compatibility layer there.

The code here only works with the old Preact 8.x release line and has been archived for documentation purposes. If you're not on the Preact 10.x release line yet, we highly recommend upgrading. Newer version of Preact include much more features, are more stable and have a much improved compatibility layer.
