What game settings to disable for smooth FPS?
Hi, I have an RTX 4090 + i7-10700K + HP Reverb G2 rig and I tried for the first time today UEVR, so I am a junior user still in learning phase. My SH2R game settings are currently maxed up with DLSS Quality, RTX, etc. which is how I played it so far without VR.
When I inject VR, without making any change to neither your optimized UEVR config, nor the game settings, I get the following poor performances:
- SteamVR resolution set to AUTO (it detects the 4090 and sets 3088x3088): 25 FPS with over 90% re-pojection ratio
- SteamVR resolution set to CUSTOM and I lower it down to 20% (1128x1128): ~50 FPS Refresh rate is set to 90Hz.
I'm kind of expecting that with a 4090 I should be able to run a SteamVR resolution at least of 100% the native Reverb G2 one and with games that are native VR such as Half Life Alyx I definitely am able to (I get 90 fps at native VR headset res).
Are there games settings that I should disable, compared to the config I use in 2D, to improve the frame rate situation when running it in VR?
- DLSS Frame Generation?
- DLSS SS Quality?
- Ray Tracing?
- etc..
Thanks in advance for any advice! Sirius
