REFramework Doesnt save some settings after closing

Open Nariod14 opened this issue 9 months ago • 2 comments

Describe the bug After installing TU1 and having to eventually reinstall REFramework, the latest version no longer seems to remember my settings for the loosefileloader and the ultrawide/FOV options. They reset themselves every time I relaunch the game, and I need to re-enable them every time. The options in question are enabling the loose file loader, and the ultrawide/fov/aspect ratio fix settings. None of them persist after closing the game.

Upload logs and any crash dumps Locate the re2_framework_log.txt in your game directory and upload it along with the issue. If you crashed, upload the reframework_crash.dmp file as well.

re2_framework_log.txt

Identify the REFramework version If the REFramework version or commit hash is known, submit this information.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Launch game having REFramework installed
  2. Enable the loose file loader and the ultrawide fix
  3. Exit the game, and relaunch it
  4. Check if settings from step 2 persist.

Expected behavior Settings should persist after relaunching the game.

Desktop and VR (please complete the following information):

  • Windows 11
  • 4070 Super OC
  • Ryzen 5 7600

Steam Deck/Linux (please complete the following information):

  • Proton version

Virtual Reality (please complete the following information):

  • Headset model
  • Runtime (OpenVR or OpenXR)

Additional context I can only remember this happening the first time I installed REFramework on the launch of the game. Perhaps there's an issue with how the settings are saved in a config file or something, I really don't know but any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem. The LooseFileLoader option does not get saved, I use Proton on Linux.

@praydog is there a way to solve this? This is also an issue in the pdupscaler branch.

Under TemporalUpscaler,>Debug Options, none of these settings save when a game is closed normally and reopened:

Upscale Jitter Allow Engine Taa

Worst case, is there string that can be added to re2_fw_config that will preserve these settings if this file is made read-only?
