Distribute Blink on Flathub
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Not necessarily, maybe the fact that it is impossible to get an official package for Alpha 3 except for Debian.
Describe the solution you'd like
I think, as with most GUI desktop applications, Flatpak and in particular Flathub would be a great fit. It's an easy installation across all distributions and makes debugging issues easier, as the environment and its dependencies are reproducible.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Other options might be the Snap store or an AppImage, as is already the case for prior releases. However, Snaps are generally not installed anywhere except Ubuntu, at which point the Debian package serves its purpose, and AppImage has proven to not be as universal as one might expect.
Additional context
As this is a Tauri app, packaging and distributing it via Flathub is easy enough. The documentation has the process outlined: https://tauri.app/distribute/flatpak/. I'm currently very time constraint, but in a few months time I might have time to assist with the process if wanted, I'm currently actively maintaining multiple packages on Flathub.
I will look into this when it's time for the next release
Bumping this! Having a Flatpak on Flathub would make Blink supported across different distros and really easy to install
I'm sorry this slid under my radar. I have been busy with other stuff for a few weeks, I will get back to Blink soon
