Direct link lands on error page

My files folder is private and protected by htaccess. Direct acces is forbidden. So, click on the "DirectLink" button lands on an error page.

Question: Is there a configuration setting that removes the "DirectLink" button and functionnality or should I alter the TintFileManager.php file and hide the buttons?

TFM does not have the option of configuring the DirectLink button, the better you can modify the code.
