Equalizer settings do not work until you open the equalizer settings everytime you start the program

When I open Pragha on Linux Mint, my equalizer settings do not take effect until I open the equalizer window everytime I open Pragha. I noticed this when some of the songs I listened to sounded very flat, as soon as I open the equalizer settings window my music instantly starts getting processed by the equalizer.
