Complex modification to enable three actions from 1 key?

to cut a long story short I need to be able to trigger 3 different actions from a single key, so either:

single tap, double tap and triple tap

or

single tap, double tap and press and hold

Im pretty new to karabiner elements so just trying to get my head around the json approach, I've searched and all I can find is examples of single tap and double tap, or press and hold, but nothing regarding combining the 2 together.

Any help is welcome.
