[Feature Request] Karabiner-Elements converts all input, regardless of source
Hello!
I am currently using Karabiner-Elements and it works very well. I am also using Barrier as a software KVM to switch between a Windows server and a Mac client. The only problem there is that in the devices list, I am unable to find the Barrier input. That makes sense but it would be great if Barrier/Synergy would work with Karabiner-Elements.
Related: I'd like to be able to use a secondary (one-handed) keyboard for custom keys and macros.
However, it appears that there's not a way to distinguish between "F1 on built-in keyboard" and "F1 on secondary keyboard" to be able to do this.
Doh! It was right in front of my face!

I'm using Barrier between a Linux machine and Mac and it would be great if barrier input is passed on to Karabiner to engage the PC-style shortcuts. Currently the PC style shortcuts work only on the Mac keyboard but not via inputs through Barrier from the host system.
Thank you for this software btw, it's awesome.
Karabiner-Elements deals with "low-level" events, so it most probably won't work in the way you want. You could however use Hammerspoon for that. It should work.

Hi, I'm interested in this issue as well, can you please remove the stale tag?
I'm interested too
FYI, Barrier is now known as Input-Leap.
If you want to recreate windows-style shortcuts under MacOS (e.g., ctrl+c
, ctrl+v
), you can try Hammerspoon and take a look at my hammerspoon-pc-mode. It is compatible with Barrier and potential Input-Leap.
