[feature request] auto exit vim normal mode with timeout support

Some key mappings incorporate vim shortcuts, in which hjkl can minimize move distance for dense editing. However switching between vim normal/insert mode feels unnatural and interruptive, so is it possible to support timeout exiting vim normal mode similar to : https://vim.fandom.com/wiki/To_switch_back_to_normal_mode_automatically_after_inaction
