Allow Shift+Enter in chat to insert a newline
When I use the chat (particularly in DMs) I have a primal urge to press Shift+Enter to insert a new line, only to have my message cut short and sent instead. Maybe it's just me because I sometimes receive complaints that deserve a bit of a longer response.
Could this be added? It would match Discord.
well newlines currently don't do anything even if you manage to insert it in the box... (in web at least)
The weird thing is there's a disconnect with the chat design. In osu-web it feels like multiline messaging should be possible, while in the game client it's less obvious whether that would even work (in stable it doesn't.. in classic IRC it can depending on client support).

As said here newlines don't work even when inserted, but should I make it possible and implement Shift+Enter?
Seems like newlines are currently only allowed in the announcement channel intentionally

if you're already tested with lazer as to how it will work, then you could consider it. also consider that if it doesn't work in stable, it will likely be declined.
