Can anyone include a refutation of the ransomware claim? Tough one, since the reasons for Bitcoin's use by hackers are reasons that make Bitcoin a better money.

The only one I can think of is the treatment it gets in The Bitcoin Standard, which argues that ransomeware for bitcoin is basically monetization of computer system security. So, not exactly a positive, but more like a hometic effect - strengthening the overall computer security of online firms by exposing vulnerabilities.

I mean, ransomware isn't technically FUD in my personal opinion. Money is used for crime constantly. The best form of cash would naturally be used for crime. It's as much FUD as is it is for encryption in general, which criminals use.
