Looking for maintainers

Open pote opened this issue 10 years ago • 5 comments

I've found that it's been some time since I've actively committed new code to planet, most of my work has been reactionary - prompted by new issues or pull requests.

This has me thinking that maybe it's time to find somebody who is more in touch with the codebase, uses it more and is willing to dedicate time to it, I'd still help out maintaining the gem but a second wind for planet would be a very good thing and I think its users deserve that.

So: would you dear reader consider becoming a maintainer for planet? It basically would mean having GitHub and RubyGems access and freedom of choice to dictate refactors, new features et al.

If you think you might be up for it please reply to this issue or get in touch with me via email or twitter so we can talk about it! :dancers:

@pote I'm interested! I have some spare time that I'll like to spend in some OSS.

@sauron cool, will add you as a maintainer - leaving the issue open in case anybody else is interested.

What's your rubygems email? :)

@pote the same that I use here. And thank you very much!

You have rubygems access :)

I should thank you for helping out! Take care of my baby! I'll be around anyway, so feel free to mention me from any issues or PRs, tweets, whatever if you need input/help. :)

I help to maintain an up-to-date planet.rb alternative (powered by the pluto feedreader machinery), see https://github.com/feedreader/planet.rb. It's all ruby and works with jekyll & friends. If you no longer maintain this script, maybe you can put up a little notice on the readme and point to my little humble planet.rb alternative? Anyways, have a happy new year. Prosit 2020! Cheers.
