HA - get tap actions on homepod mini

Open ajpohv opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

What feature would you like?

I like to monitor/get the tap-actions on my homepod mini in Home Assistant. The streaming features in the last updates is wonderfull. But the only way to stop the stream is from the Home Assistant interface. It would be nice to pauze/stop the stream with a single tap on the homepod mini "screen".

Describe the solution you'd like

It would be nice if in Home Assistant there will be sensor-entities available for the devices (like the Homepod mini). The state of the sensor would be like 'single tap', 'double tap' etc. The monitored sensor can get a automation that creates an action on the changes. Like: when stream is active, stop the stream when 'single tap'.

Any other information to share?

Maybe this wil be done with this documentation part? https://pyatv.dev/development/control/

I don't think there's such feedback from HomePods, since even Apple doesn't use that feature externally from the HomePod. The Display is just used to interface with the HomePod itself.

Yes, I believe @apfelflo89 is correct here. Don't see that I can do anything here.
