multiple Google Chrome "desktop" applications not showing up as separate applications in alt-tab switcher

A chrome tab can be made into a desktop application by the menu option "More tools" -> "Create shortcut" -> and checking "Open as application".

If I have one of these open and a Google Chrome window open, only the most recent window of those appears in the application switcher.

This is a regression; Before COSMIC or Pop Shell would include all these Chrome desktop application windows in the application switcher.
