[Feature] Allow switching workspaces by scrolling up/down with mouse over 'Workspaces' Top Bar button

Pop!_OS 21.04 / GNOME 3.38.4

Allow the user to switch workspaces by hovering their mouse over the 'Workspaces' button on the Top Bar and scrolling up or down.

Basically, the idea is that this would make switching workspaces really quick and efficient using a mouse. Right now, to switch workspaces using the mouse, a user needs to:

1. Click the 'Workspaces' button, or activate the Hot Corner
2. Move their mouse off of the Top Bar
3. Scroll up or down as desired
4. Move their mouse back to the Top Bar to click the Workspaces button (or activate the Hot Corner) again

This change would allow users to simply move their mouse to the top corner of their screen and scroll up/down to the workspace they want, significantly speeding up and simplifying the process of switching workspaces with the mouse. This is really just an idea that popped into my head today - it may very well come with drawbacks I haven't considered so people should feel welcome to discuss in the comments.
