I think we need a settings menu focusing on the greeter and its related settings.
I'm envisioning the ability to:

  • change the background, preferably independent for login and lock screen
  • set font & theming settings independently of the user settings
  • Allow for teeming as in make it possible to download and manage themes changing the layout and look of the greeter and lock screen
  • link to the configuration folder / file one would need to edit, to redesign the greeter & lock page
  • link to documentation of the current version about said configuration file

Or as text, Let's introduce a settings page focused on the greeter and lock screen. Allow for a few simple settings right on the settings page. Introduce greeter theme packs and the ability to download and manage those; while also tieing it into desktop wide theme packs. Link to the greeter configuration file or folder defining the whole greeter — to point the user straight to where he needs to be to develop a whole new greeter theme, or to edit more complex aspects of the current theme that can't be easily adapted as a settings dialog. In the same place also link to the online documentation about said configuration file(s).
