Password input field is out of focus - possible regression
Background
Linux pop-os 6.12.10-76061203-generic #202412060638~1753385880~24.04~670f438 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu J x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

When greeter appears, the password field used to be in focus and ready for input. It is hinted at by blue border around the field (just a standard way of hinting at focus). One could just start typing and the field would accept input.
Problem
After one of recent updates, the password field still looks in focus (blue border) but it no longer accepts the input. I can type and hit enter and neither redacted characters appear (dots or asterisks or whatever it is) nor you can hit enter and log in.
EDIT: Actually, after writing this post, I tend to see more cases where password field is not in focus (no blue border). It feels like a race condition thing, random.
Once I manually refocus the field, it works correctly.
It doesn't happen always. I'd say 90% of times it's broken when waking up, 80% upon first boot. On lock, I just had a case when I had to refocus twice. Weird.
I just experienced the same thing. Sometimes the widget presents itself as being highlighted when it isn't. For what its worth: clicking anywhere in the greeter will always keep the password field focused. Typing text will always have it be inserted in the password field for me, there's no way to deselect the password field. That seems fine to me, so maybe there shouldn't be a way to remove focus from the password field? Specifically on the greeter page at least.
Adding the differences I experience to this ticket since maintainer closed my other ticket thinking it's the same as this. If the touchpad was previouy deactivated it cannot be reactivated with the keyboard. Typing or any other keyboard activity does not allow password input. Out of 50 tests all 50 fail so it's 100% failure in my case. Password dialog is never focused on my system. Considering external mouse works once attached the keyboard Fn-key combo should work to activate the touchpad.
