[Bug] Unable to copy-&-paste URL quickly in Find menu

Issue/Bug description: Doing the following all of these quickly enough with keyboard shortcuts: if you copy a URL inside of COSMIC Text Editor, open the Find menu, and paste into the Find menu; then the application incorrectly pastes , into the "Find" field.

Quickly trying to paste with Ctrl+V after the bug is first triggered will also continue this behavior.

However, if you simply wait long enough, or perform any other user interaction before trying to use Ctrl+V quick enough for the first time (such as: moving the mouse via touchpad; click anywhere, both inside or outside COSMIC Text Editor; or use the mouse to click into the "Find" field of the Find menu); then the bug is avoided and not activated.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Have a URL in an open file on COSMIC Text Editor and copy the URL with Ctrl+C.
2. Quickly open the Find menu with Ctrl+F.
3. Quickly paste with Ctrl+V into the Find menu fast enough so that instead , is inserted.
4. To continue the bug after first triggering it, keep pasting with Ctrl+V.

Expected behavior: I should be able to copy and paste a URL quickly into the Find menu, and COSMIC Text Editor should paste the URL. This doesn't happen in gedit or Mousepad.

Other notes:

• Please let me know how to obtain application logs so I can help make debugging efforts easier.

The behavior of this bug is slightly different on Pop!_OS 24.04 (Alpha 5.1) on the HP Dev One: nothing is pasted when trying to paste a URL. However, if I wait for at least 2-3 seconds without any keyboard or touchpad interaction; then I am able to paste the URL into the Find menu.

I am unable to reproduce this with the same steps but found that releasing CTRL is necessary to paste. CTRL+F keep holding CTRL and pressing V does not paste. Releasing CTRL and pressing CTRL+V then paste.

Is this the issue you're seeing?

• @WatchMkr Yes, I am also getting this behavior as you described on Manjaro Xfce. (I haven't tested for this exact issue in COSMIC Text Editor in a good while).
• Perhaps an approach that was mentioned in #298 could work here?
• I haven't tested in Pop!_OS 24.04 Alpha 7 on bare metal yet.
