Feature request: Display battery percentage in the panel

I would like to be able to see a battery percentage as text in the panel.

I would like this feature too. I feel the current battery icon doesn't do a good job of telling how much battery there's left.

This is the only immediate thing I can see that gnome does better than cosmic for me. That and shoving the bluetooth applet into the wifi applet, that makes more sense to me.

Yes I really need this. Symbols can be misleading but the option to see a number would be definitely more handicapped accessible.
