System Suspend on HP EliteBook 845 G8 Notebook PC
How did you upgrade to 21.10? (Fresh install / Upgrade) 21.04

Issue/Bug Description: Was happening on 21.04 as well and was hoping system suspend would be resolved for this newer laptop in this version. The laptop is a HP EliteBook 845 G8 Notebook PC Running AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U GPU: AMD ATI 04:00.0 Cezanne
Steps to reproduce (if you know): Putting system into suspeneded state in any form from closing the lid to pressing the button to cli causes the system to shut off and do a fres boot.
Expected behavior: The system to resume properly.
Other Notes:
I had similar problems with sleep mode not working on my HP Envy x360. In the meantime you can manually upgrade your kernel to the vanilla stable, which should fix this issue, as it's currently on 5.14.15.
