Cannot load wallet (2): Wallet format requires update. Cannot find keystore for name x1/

Open hunterleaman opened this issue 6 years ago • 9 comments

Cannot access wallet. I see the following error message after entering my password: "Cannot load wallet (2): Wallet format requires update. Cannot find keystore for name x1/".

Ive tried duplicating and renaming the wallet with the .bak suffix, but that doesnt work either.

At this point it seems my Litecoin are inaccessible.

Any help is much appreciated.

Using version 3.1.3.1

Was this wallet created with an older version of Electrum-LTC? Have you tried restoring the wallet from seed?

I’d bet it was created with an older version though I’ve never updated electrum-ltc. So maybe not since I’m running 3.1.3.1 and I’ve run it only once when I added the initial litecoin.

I have not tried restoring from seed but I have my recovery sequence words. Any advice.

Try restoring from seed. Select File > New/Restore and then follow the instructions. (Pick a new filename, do not overwrite an existing wallet file.)

I see no menu bar options beyond the Electrum-LTC tab

Updated Electrum to version 3.2.3 and Electrum-LTC 3.2.2. Now seeing this error message:

Cannot load wallet (2): This version of Electrum is too old to open this wallet. (highest supported storage version: 16, version of this file: 18)

Could you maybe upload a screenshot?

Updated Electrum to version 3.2.3 and Electrum-LTC 3.2.2.

Do you mean the unreleased version from the master branch of the Electrum-LTC git repo?

Im not sure honestly. Just downloaded the most recent version or ran the CLI command (can't remember) and now I have Electrum-LTC version 3.2.2

Still seeing the same issue in version 3.3.6.1, downloaded from electrum-ltc.org
