electrum-ltc cannot differentiate between the Bitcoin and Litecoin "mode" on Ledger Nano S

Electrum-ltc checks if the Ledger Nano S is in the correct mode after a transaction is initiated and before it can be confirmed on the Ledger device. However, electrum-ltc cannot differentiate between the Bitcoin and Litecoin App on Ledger Nano S. That means you can confirm a Litecoin transaction while being in the Bitcoin mode (having opened the Bitcoin App on the Ledger device). In this case, the amount of Litecoins to transfer is shown in units of BTC and the "Pay to" address is also a Bitcoin address. After the transaction has been confirmed the coins are transferred to the address specified in electrum-ltc (LTC address), but the popup window that informs the user that the coins were successfully sent also shows the Bitcoin address from the Ledger device. If I open the Ethereum App on Ledger Nano S, electrum-ltc does immediately throw an exception saying that the "Device is not in Litecoin mode" when i try to make a Litecoin transaction. Thus electrum-ltc can somehow not distinguish between the Bitcoin and Litecoin "mode" on Ledger Nano S.

Setup: I have two Ledger Nano S one with the firmware version 1.3.1 and the other with the most recent firmware 1.4.2. I'm using the most recent electrum-ltc version 3.1.3.1.

Can Electrum (for Bitcoin) differentiate between the Bitcoin app and the Litecoin app? If not, you should open an issue upstream about this.
