This dependency is not working anymore, I have even searched for a working version but couldn't find it

Your mileage may vary on this, but I was able to get this working by adding jcenter() back into my repository list in my build.gradle file.

Less than ideal, but will roll with it until either this library gets picked up by a new maintainer or we write our own for scraping link preview data.
