Shortcuts to change speed sometimes don’t work on new tabs for the first 1–2 minutes

There seems to be a bug where shortcuts for changing speed sometimes (about 30% of the times) don’t work on a new tab for the first 1-2 minutes.

Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a new tab 2. Try using the set keyboard shortcuts to change speed 3. If the hotkeys do not work, switching tabs and returning after a couple of minutes usually resolves the issue

Also I noticed that changing speed from the speed presets on the extension panel always works, regardless of the shortcuts malfunction.

Reminds me a little of #792.

A few questions

  1. What browser are you using?
  2. Did re-install Global Speed help?

Yes, it's similar to #792 but I don't think my issue is website specific. Tough I encounter this problem 90% of the times on youtube cause it's the main site I use it on.

  1. I'm running on Chrome 143.0.7499.40 on MacOS Tahoe.
  2. I did reinstall GS quite a few times but the errors persisted.

Could this be caused by the shortcut shift + < > I set?
