Make each video independent on a single page

Open Golden-Odysseus opened this issue 1 month ago • 3 comments

If I am scrolling (at notebook/windows) in a page like facebook.com, instagram.com, web.whatsapp.com, reddit.com, if I am watching a video at 1x and change it to 1.5x, for example, I would like the next to start again at 1x, and the third video as well, even If changed the speed of the previous video for some other value. Is it posible to implement this within the same page address? The way it works now is that all the videos/page share the same speed.

Hello! That behavior isn't supported. Global Speed is designed to be a top-down speed controller where you set speed once and it applies globally. You can enable Pin By Default options page so each tab becomes independent. But no such function is supported on a video level.

Something like Video Speed Controller might be more suited to your needs.

thanks for the reply. I have been using video speed controller for like 1 or 2 years, but I can't actually recall if it also doesn't have this implementation or if it had but lost it in the last update, but the fact is that as of today, if I scroll down it will also keep the same speed from the last video, which bothers me. Besides, it now has a bug on youtube that if I am at a certain speed and after a while if try to change it via a key shortcut, it will apply as it was originally at 1x. And so it was why I searched for other extension and found this one which I think it's great.

Out of curiosity, is this too hard to implement (this video level feature) or it's just not your objective with this extension?

The latter. As for difficulty, not sure.
