Bug with playback speed not working.

Open Maverickman13 opened this issue 6 months ago • 7 comments

The speed meter goes up and down as I press the hotkeys, but nothing happens. This happens sometimes when I open new YT pages or even in the miniwindow of YT. If I refresh the page at least once, maybe even twice, or restart the extension, then it works again. Most of the time it works just fine on new webpages, but sometimes I do have to restart app/refresh page. If you could find maybe why it does this, that'd be great.

Hello! Probably unrelated, but I've noticed that happening when loading Global Speed manually (through unpacked folder instead of Chrome Web Store, Edge Store, etc).

Can you provide details about your OS, browser version, and anything else that might be relevant?

Hey,

I'm using Edge, Version 138.0.3351.83 (Official build) (64-bit) - good internet high end computer.

I have "Pinned by default" turned on and "New Context" selected. Not sure that means/if that's the best setting. Also, sometimes embedded video players don't respond to the changed number settings when I press A/D (You see number change but not speed).

@Maverickman13 Hello! Issue might have been resolved in the latest update. Global Speed v3.2.30

Let me know if you still experience it.

Thanks,

It might be fixed, haven't ran into the issue yet. Will keep you posted. However, another issue I'm running into is not all my YT videos open with my preset set to "locked", sometimes I have to open the page twice to make sure it has the locked setting. This happens either from an embedded YT video that I open in a new page, or just from clicking a link in my e-mail for example.

I only have this issue with Netflix, but I always just assumed that it was the Netflix video player aggressively taking control of the browser

Also wanted to add that when the page opens unlocked/not using the preset, it also doesn't respond to speed commands (a and d etc). So I have to re-open the link. Happens a lot when I open a YT link from discord.

this happens to me when I use the shortcuts to rewind or advance the video (I have set b to rewind 3 seconds and n to advance 3 seconds, and z to rewind 1 frame and x to advance one frame). From time to time, they all stop working, even though the indication shows on the screen when I press the hotkeys. At the same time, other hotkeys that I assigned to change speed (s do decrease -0.1 and e to increase +0.1) continue to work normally.

Did you manage to solve that or came to a conclusion?
