excessive load times with Brave browser

Opening https://polkadot.js.org/apps/ can take up to 10min to load and finally work.

• pages says "Waiting to establish a connection with the remote endpoint." but changing endpoints doesn't matter. Firefox loads within few seconds with the same endpoints
• same behavior over IPFS https://dotapps-io.ipns.dweb.link/#/explorer
• console log shows nothing suspicious
• disabling "Brave shields" doesn't help
• sometimes it loads in a second, but mostly not
• once loaded successfully, changing endpoints reiterates the same excessive load times

Please tell us about your environment:

ubuntu 22.04 desktop Brave: Version 1.64.109 Chromium: 123.0.6312.58 (Official Build) (64-bit) (installed with snap)

Possibly unrelated but when I'm using Brave and I'm also using a VPN (e.g. ProtonVPN), turning off the VPN sometimes overcomes the delay. That's ok macOS. Sometimes I just use Firefox instead.
