Playback speed slider
The setting now opens a menu, whereas dragging a slider would be more elegant. Not very important, but an idea. Using the 3.1.11 F-Droid version.
I hadn't thought of that. I like the idea. We'll keep this on our radar. I think maybe this could fall under "good first issue" since it is an isolated component that needs to be changed.
A slider might be more elegant but a pop-up on long-press with a selection of choices (like AntennaPod does) would be an improvement. Not the biggest issue in the world but it is annoying to have to cycle through (while missing the control in question or hitting an adjacent control).
@comradekingu @mikece are you referring to the playback speed on the Settings screen, or the playback speed on the Player screen? Right now on the Player screen it is just a tap to change speed feature, so I guess you're referring to Settings screen?
Yes, referring to the playback screen. Dunno if you have looked at AntennaPod as a reference; I can send screenshots if you want (that said y'all probably shouldn't take UI design ideas from me!).
@mitchdowney I was thinking of the adjustment in "Settings", bonus points for having the functionality match that of individual playback I suppose.
I think setting a default playback speed in settings makes more sense than a max.
If slowest and fastest is important, both the low end and top end could have sliders, with one in middle for default speed.

I don't recall if Podverse will remember unique playback speeds per podcast (as an option) like Overcast does; there are definitely podcasts where I listen at 2x and others at 1x even though my global default it 1.5x.
@comradekingu nice, I like that experience for the Settings screen.
@mikece I'm so used to playback speed buttons in apps just changing the speed immediately (instead of popping up a bar) that I'm not sure which design to use. I'll run it past the rest of the team to see what they think.
Default playback speeds for individual podcasts sounds cool. I just created #848 for it.
