PODS WYSIWYG (Visual Editor) Custom media buttons no longer showing
Description
The WYSIWYG editor only allows for images now. It used to allow for shortcuts to other installed apps.
Testing instructions
Create a PODS with a WYSIWYG field. Create a custom post of that type. Edit the custom field. Only "Add Media" shortcut appears. PODS shortcut (along with others, depending on what plugins you have installed) should appear. In particular, this client needs the "Insert Download" feature.
Expected behavior
Expected to see shortcode buttons next to Add Media button.

This is probably because of the media_buttons filter that isn't used by REACT.

I don't see a way to support this in the short term, going to move this to a future release.
@JoryHogeveen pointed me here with my case I inquired about in your Wordpress Support Forum and asked me to share my details. I have run into this issue as well, trying to provide my client with the use of a YouTube Embed wizard button on the default editor.
In my situation, I can see the button in my own Chrome browser regardless of the role I am logged in as. However, I am unable to see it in an incognito window regardless of role, nor can my client see it in her Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser or in an incognito window.

I posted over in slack https://podswp.slack.com/archives/C02SVLHQF/p1643235445313800 but haven’t really figured out the why behind my issue.
I am using the “Embed Plus Plugin for YouTube” that has a wizard button above all the places the classic editor is used on my site. For my sermon custom post type, I have the regular post editor unchecked under the supports section of the advanced options tab for the pod, and I have a WYSIWYG text field for the sermon video. As the site admin, I have been able to see this youtube wizard button above all my pods WYSIWYG pods fields and use it successfully.
And then the issue arose… I have my client set to an editor role, and when she goes to create a new sermon, there is no youtube wizard button for the sermon video field. The button appears for her when adding new regular posts, just not with pods fields, so it’s not the embed plus plugin that is restricting based on role.
Furthermore, when I was troubleshooting I created my own test user and set it as an editor, and I could still see the youtube wizard button on the pods fields in my regular browser, but couldn’t once I logged into an incognito window of my browser. I then changed the test user to an admin and it still didn’t work in the incognito window.
Then, I even logged into an incognito window using my regular admin account and the youtube wizard button was not present on the pods fields.
I can not figure out why my normal Chrome browser allows me to see this button on my pods WYSIWYG fields, regardless of user role, but in an incognito browser, or on my client’s computer, it’s not showing up.

After posting in slack, I tried enabling support for the default content editor field under the advanced options tab in the pod settings. When I refreshed in the incognito window, I could then see the youtube button both on the main post editor and the WYSIWYG editor for my sermon video custom field, but it was gone again after I unchecked the editor support on my custom post type, since I really don’t want it displayed.
Another interesting thing is that my client noted that if she goes back and looks at a previous sermon where I added the youtube embed, she does see the button, but just not when going to add her own new sermon post.
So my lingering questions are still…

Should what I’m expecting be possible? And if so, is this a pods issue or an issue with the EmbedPlus YT plugin. (The person who responded on slack didn’t think the button should show up without having the main editor displayed in my pod, but I don’t understand why not.)
After landing here, it seems your intention IS indeed to have these custom media buttons come through, so I'm am hopeful of a fix in the future!
Unfortunately because most of this functionality only works on the PHP-based version of the TinyMCE editor in WP, this has been pretty difficult to figure out the best path forward on. WordPress does have a TinyMCE component for React which does not have any of this capability added to it in order to support custom media buttons in a backcompat way. In fact, it probably won't have any of these things added to it unless they decide to revamp the classic editor interface to use React components which is not very likely that they'll spend any time there.
