Navigation bar has too many space between icons and titles

When I set the font size to 11sp, the bar creates a lot of empty space between the title and the icon. Is it possible to reduce the size of the bar?

I have the same problem, what is more title has no padding on bottom and it looks weird. Do you have any idea how to fix this? This is default implementation: screen shot 2017-07-07 at 10 26 22
