Non-oracles network availability
The site at proofofphone.com seems to only work when connected to the oracles network. Are there production and/or testnet versions of this up and running somewhere? I was hoping to use this service as part of a hackathon project, that is the reason for my asking.
@johndangerstorey PoPN oracle is outdated and we need to refactor it using new ideas, described in the ON paper. Although, PoPA oracle is working and you can test it and use it for the hackathon. The utility of PoPA is much more advanced and that oracle is powerful! https://github.com/oraclesorg/oracles-dapps-proof-of-physical-address/tree/dev
@johndangerstorey btw how did you get your node synced with broken testnet? testnet.oracles.org:3000
@igorbarinov I see. The PoPA is cool, however we specifically need text messages so that is why I was focused on the PoP. No worries though, we'll just hack together a much jankier version ;)
I'm not sure what I did to be honest. I deleted all my old resources on azure, and just went through the re-deploy process as outlined on github. I went back and read your message and now see that you only instructed to delete, my bad - doing that now.
@johndangerstorey don't delete it plz
@johndangerstorey too late :) Well, if you can run it again I will appreciate it. We are preparing for the next testnet but this one is beneficial
@johndangerstorey can you hack on current PoP? We have a bounty on this! also, there is a more advanced version of the workflow without server-side txs. it's described in the whitepaper and coded in PoPA by @phahulin https://hackmd.io/s/HkV8Vw7_-#proof-of-phone-number-dapp
K, re-deployed and it looks like it's synced with yours again :)
The PoP bounty... what does that entail exactly? Essentially coding out the spec that's defined in your link? How large is the bounty? Our team has already started down a slightly different path, but if we finish we might be able to turn our attention to it. Or if the bounty is large enough I might take it on because I think the whole SMS => Blockchain transaction is important.
Also, is there a slack that would be a better place for this type of convo? Or do you prefer most other communications happen in the forum?
@johndangerstorey Thank you for starting your VM. Answered about the bounty on the forum.
