[ENHANCEMENT] Is there a way to use a custom page template when creating aset page?

Is there a way to use a custom page template when creating aset page?

We want to use a specific page template for our custom asset pages. Is there a way to define it?

When adding an asset from the web part, we can create the page but have no control on the template used. Could this be done?

When we add a page from the Site Pages library, we do not have the option to select template like we can on the home page of the site. I do not see any place to set the default.

If you want to use a custom template then you should create the page outside the Admin UX and then just add an asset using the URL option to paste the URL to the SharePoint page you created. The ability to create the page is there only for convenience.

Thanks @juliemturner . I understand that but, since the OOTB way of choosing a template is not available in the page library, I thought it could be a nice improvement to LP. Set the template to be used for assets pages.

I'm sorry I didn't understand that you were asking for an enhancement as this was tagged as a question. I will tag this as an enhancement request for the team to review.

My bad. I first wanted to see if I missed something that's why I started as a question.

SAME Question https://github.com/pnp/custom-learning-office-365/issues/370#

Basically I would like to create custom content with a special layout that does not contain the SharePoint wrapper (header/footer) Just the Content Section.

Is This Possible?

@arnostac, The header, footer, and navigation of SharePoint pages are stripped out by Learning Pathways when you add them as an asset and view the content through the Learning Pathways web part. I am thinking the functionality you want is already there :)

At this point, we won't be funding an enhancement for this issue due to our current backlog prioritization. That being said, we have tagged this Enhancement Request as a Contribution Opportunity in case community contributors would like to engage and help us all address the ask.

If anyone is interested in working on this enhancement, please reach out to discuss possible solutions so that we maintain consistency with the goals and functionality of the solution.
