Ability to search outlook address books?

As part of (an extension to?) the

m365 outlook mail send ...

it would be rather useful to also be able to verify possible recipients or search for them in an addressbook. Something like

m365 outlook addressbook search <someSubStr|regex>

that would return a (JSON) structure of responses.

Wouldn't this be quite similar to a command we already have m365 aad user list? Docs Here you can search for users within AAD based on there properties like e.g. displayName, jobTitle, etc.

Aaahhh... many thanks -- yes this is largely what I was thinking of. My "goal" is to consider how to add this transparently to third party clients like Thunderbird -- but I suspect this would entail some intermediate infrastructure.

@rudolphpienaar @Jwaegebaert since you can send emails to people outside your organization, shouldn't we be looking at user's contacts rather than users in the current AAD?
