I can't lauch it, java not detected properly

I get this error when trying to launch it:

The java installation you have is not up to date
requires at least version 1.6+, you have
version 12.0.1

Please go to http://www.java.com/getjava/ and download
a valid Java Runtime and install before running .

I have the same issue, but I'm afraid this project is no more maintained.

Run it with java 8
