Wow that was a lot of layers deep. So yes, _even though_ the option isn't in the SUMA_ROI2dataset.c file, it looks like all of the pad_to_node functionality exists in `AFNI_environ.c`....
Full working command: `ROI2dataset -prefix test.pm -input rh.roi.stg.niml.roi -pad_to_node d:ROI2.rh.asdset2.niml.dset`
I'll do more digging on which programs correctly set `max_node` and those that don't. That'll probably be a separate PR once I figure it out. For now I'd say merge...
Yes I think Option 1 for next release and Option 2 for 2025.x. I'll dig into how to build a proper plugin.
